What we collect

We only collect information we need. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:

  • Booking details for Akhand Path, Sukhmani Sahib and other programs, including the date, occasion and names you give us.
  • Photographs and video taken at programs and events held at or by the Gurdwara.
  • Basic technical information, such as browser type and pages visited, collected by our website and embedded services.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and arrange bookings and seva.
  • Assess and manage membership, including eligibility to vote at general meetings, as required by our constitution.
  • Send our newsletter, if you have subscribed. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Share news of the sangat’s programs and events, including on our website and social media.
  • Meet our legal and governance obligations as an incorporated association.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only where needed with:

  • Service providers who help us run our operations, such as our membership platform (TidyHQ), our email newsletter service and website hosting.
  • Embedded services on this website, such as Google Maps and Google Calendar, which have their own privacy policies.
  • Government bodies or others where required or authorised by law.

Some of these providers may store information outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.

Photographs at the Gurdwara

Photos and video are often taken during programs, Gurpurabs and Nagar Kirtan, and may appear on our website, newsletter and social media. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let a sewadar or committee member know. If you would like an image of yourself or your child removed, contact us and we will remove it from our channels.

Cookies and embedded content

This website does not use advertising cookies. Embedded content, such as maps, calendars and videos, may set cookies controlled by the provider. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Access to membership and booking records is limited to committee members and volunteers who need it. We keep information only as long as it is needed or required by law, then securely destroy it.
